Our firm

ITEM was established in 1993 when Slovenia became an  independent state after separating from Yugoslavia and after a new Slovenian Intellectual Property Office was established in 1991 and started operating in 1992.

The founder of ITEM is Mr. Andrej Vojir, B. Sc. In Electrical Engineering, patent attorney with over 30 years of experience in the field of industrial property. He was the head of industrial property department at ISKRA, the largest Slovenian electronics company and also one of the founders of the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office (SIPO).

ITEM soon became one of the leading patent and trademark law firms in Slovenia providing legal representation and counseling in all fields of intellectual property law (trademarks, designs, patents, domains, customs measures concerning counterfeits, litigation).

With respect to territory, ITEM covers Slovenia, international trademarks and designs before WIPO, Community trademarks and designs before OHIM, and European patents before EPI. In cooperation with its associates ITEM covers also Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania.
